How do I Hang a 2 1/2" blind(s) on the styrofoam walls?

Mounting anything on thin filled RV walls can only be described as a major challenge. I found these hollow wall screws searching for an anchor for my problem. Purchased longer than needed and found you cannot use them as they strike the rear wall before they are far enough in to compress. Trial mounted one on a thin wood shim and went back and got a shorter length. They are clearly the product of choice for RV use and stronger than I expected. Glad it solved your problem too.

I received your message and went immed to Lowes and found the screw anchors you describe. Picked up some 3/16 in size.
I believe they will work great and I won't have to hollow out behind the screwhole for a toggle bolt.

Mini-blinds would fit nicely, seen it done.

I just mounted a hardwood board on the wall in my coach. I used short "hollow wall screws" purchased from Lowes. The ones I purchased were rated for 1/8" thick walls. You drill a hole and insert the screw an tighten it up - four metal supports tighten on the inside of the wall as the screw is tightened. Once tightened, you remove the screw and use it to secure whatever you are mounting. There is a metal faceplate on the wall with the hole for the threaded screw so the mounting is supported front and back. I was amazed by how secure the mounting is. You should have no problem with these in foam and when you install it, the supports should have no problem displacing the foam on the inner surface. When you purchase them, they have the weight they will support marked on the packaging.

I wish you would have advised the "mechanic" who installed the second AC in my Bounder the same holds true for the saw blade used to cut the access hole in the ceiling.

I used these to put up curtain rods and a phone charging station. Wall material is a panel type luan plywood with fabric coating ( typical in mobile homes and RV's

Things to remember:
1-Foam in walls, so I bent a finishing nail 90 degrees on end, mounted it on a drill and stuck it in the hole I drilled before trying to tighten the anchor. That cleans out a space for metal to " bite" on backside. You can vacuum excess foam out of hole
2-my wall was outside wall, only 1 1/2 inches thick so used a 1 1/4 inch anchor ( don't drill though wall :) )
3-get anchors that will work on your wall material thickness, otherwise it will not bite and hold
4-drill proper size hole, insert anchor, tap lightly so the little metal tip will grip the wall material when you tighten
4-don't over tighten or it will not hold. just snug

I really need to find a piece of that 3M tape as that sounds unbelievable. I have a lot of other projects that are not as heavy and that tape sounds like a perfect solution.

As far as the resolution to my blind hanging question, I like fastening a flat board (1x3) across the top of the window using the 1x1 window frame and some ell brackets, then fasten my new blind to it.
That is a perfectly workable solution and MY choice of the ideas. I'll get a nice 1x4 hardwood and work it down to the exact width for the blind bracket, then sand, stain and seal to match the rest of our decor.

I will also convince the DW to look at the 2" blinds instead of the 2 1/2 inchers.

yep, and there are possible mounting locations at where the valence is fastened.

Believe it or not 3M makes a heavy duty double sided tape that will hold ....use small screw to just pierce the 1/8" board and the tape will do the rest.....
