How do you prevent hose clamp cuts on flexible wire hose

I seem to be having issues with my hose clamps on my sewer ends. The hose clamps are tightened but seem to end up leaking. Tightening them causes the clamp to get into the wire ridges and I must be...

Ditto on that.

BTW, spraying a little "Pledge" on the Valterra threaded ends helps immensely when installing them onto the hose ends.
