How do you secure your portable Progressive Industries EMS

After reading a lot of reviews in this Forum about surge protectors and EMS systems, I decided to be safe and ordered the Portable 30 AMP Progressive Industries EMS. One of the things I was very concerned about when researching them was how to prevent someone from stealing it right off the post. When I read the description it said there was a way to lock it to prevent theft. There is a metal band on it that has two holes in it. The cord with the plug that plugs into the campground post runs through one of the holes and I assume your are able to lock up the other hole somehow but not sure how or where you are suppose to secure it. I just received it in the mail today so does anyone have some advise or better yet some pictures on how you secured yours?

Thanks
Stan

  • We use a cable w/lock and fasten it up under the slide..it's out of sight and dry.
  • Wow thanks for the quick response. So something like a bicycle chain or cable should do it.
  • Bag is a good idea. I also have a 25' 30 amp extension so I could use the extension and just keep the unit in the compartment. Thing is you don't want to be drawing too much current as the RV cable should be extended outside the compartment to prevent over heating and adding the extension will cause a slight voltage drop. I've checked though and my cable has never gotten warm.
  • Cable or chain and lock and lock it to the post then cover it and post with a large plastic bag. It's not water proof and never know when it will rain or sprinkler system will go on. Plus it will be out of site.
