How does solar play with a battery disconnect!!??

Nope. I would want my solar going to the positive buss with a fuse between the controller and the buss. Otherwise the wire becomes the fuse.

Here is a revision:

solar panels --> switch --> charge controller --> fuse or breaker --> battery bank or buss.
