Did you ever consider a Fumoto Oil Drain Valve?
They are great. I put one on after putting on new oil pan. Works great, all vehicles should come with them. Thought about putting one in the stripped out oil pan before changing, but wasn't sure at the time if it would work or not and didn't want to chance it. I have found out since then that is what I should of done.
Will you ever have a road failure with one? Probably not. I even put one on the gen and that was the one that broke. Fortunately I saw the oil and replaced it with the steel plug which is unlikely to ever become damaged.
