How long do we want batteries to last ?
IMO, and IME, nothing is simpler to maintain than LA RV batteries. When connected to a decent charger, and watered once...maybe twice a year, and maybe hosed off once in a while, they last an easy 8-1...

I dont get it. Had a pup for 3 years, battery never needed water. A TT for 3 years, battery never needed water. Now I have a MH, for almost 3 years. I checked the battery, which was maintenance free and the water level was fine. It was a bear to get the caps off. I only have 2 batteries and plan on replacing them soon. For the cost, 3 years is long enough for me.
