How long do we want batteries to last ?
IMO, and IME, nothing is simpler to maintain than LA RV batteries. When connected to a decent charger, and watered once...maybe twice a year, and maybe hosed off once in a while, they last an easy 8-1...

Well, you guys must be the luckiest battery owners around because most battery maintenance guides say check the water monthly, if not more. Congrats.. I don't know how you do it, other than having air tight caps.
Perhaps I go below 70% soc too often.. but, if I didn't, I wouldn't get the use out of them I prefer. I do not like constant conservation when boondocking.
