How long do we want batteries to last ?
IMO, and IME, nothing is simpler to maintain than LA RV batteries. When connected to a decent charger, and watered once...maybe twice a year, and maybe hosed off once in a while, they last an easy 8-1...

For a few years. I promise, off-grid life will change your opinion. You can stand there browbeating your batteries and yelling "You Can't Do That!" all you want.
Bien Dicho MW Made me laugh. True: I have a dress shirt I bought in England in 1975. It was used a lot, still looks new on the hanger but the fabric is so thin now that it is almost transparent. Could probably read a newspaper through it. Doesn't look so good on my 68 year old body though!
