How long do we want batteries to last ?
IMO, and IME, nothing is simpler to maintain than LA RV batteries. When connected to a decent charger, and watered once...maybe twice a year, and maybe hosed off once in a while, they last an easy 8-1...

How long do we WANT batteries to last? At least as long as we last (Forever in short).
How long should we expect.. Quality battery about 10 years give or take a bit.
How long do they last. 1-11 years in practice
AGM is a high priced fancy sounding technology, Since they cost 2 or 3 or 4 times what say a flooded wet cell does they MUST be better.. This is why folks are so enamored of them.
Evidence that I have seen, including that which I have gathered myself, suggests they are not as good. But.. Well.. Let me tell you the story of several customers I had back when I mixed paint for part of my living (Worked in a paint store).
Customers would come in and pick a color, "How much is it" Best paint we had was about 11.95/gallon back then as I recall (much more today) "11.95, can't be any good, where can I get this color in a better paint.
So I sent them to a paint store across town.> Same paint, Same paint exactly, in fact in some cases it wound up being the same exact can of paint.
But it was fifteen bucks a gallon. (I worked IN a K-mart, I worked FOR a division of Sherman-Williams).
Same with batteries, the 100 dollar battery can not possibly be better or even as good as the 300 dollar battery.. Except that it is.
