Should work. :) Here is how to operate it (para 10) You must mount it where you can get at the two holes in the side, and you need a small flashlight and little screwdriver to work the switch and the pot.
You also must have the battery disconnected when you want to accurately set the voltage so the battery voltage does not skew the voltage at the converter's terminals. Also you need a voltmeter tied in where you can see it when you are turning the pot.

I see the Interstate 210AH ones on the Costco site are all black. The "real" Interstate HCLs (reportedly made by Trojan) are black and green. That means they didn't just use regular HCLs, but I don't know more. Hmmmm. You were right to be concerned anyway.
