How many amps at controller and brakes magnets?

Trailer brakes are getting weak. I already pulled the brake drums and don't see any grease on them. I adjusted brakes shoes and no improvement to stopping. Don't know how old brake controller is. ...

To expand. Trailer brakes work off VOLTAGE, not amps. You activate the amount of braking by the amount of voltage to the brake Magnets.
1 volt--minimum. 12 volts or higher--- locked up. That is what the Brake controller controls. Doug
