Wow, what was needed for maintenance and repairs other than oil changes? - SidecarFlipExplorer III

I wanted to see how many hours people have on their Champion Power Equipment generators.
I own 2 Champions, a 2000w inverter and a 3500/400 conventional, and they seem to be holding up great.
Looking to see who has high hours on theirs and how the reliability has been.
I have 3 years of pretty hard running on my 2000 watt Inverter. No hour meter but I change the oil 3 times a year. Still on the original spark plug and I've cleaned the air filter foam numerous times.
It gets used for camping but it also rides on my quad when I need 110 volt power around the farm for powering power tools in the field winter and summer.
No issues whatsoever, I'm very happy with it. Starts first or second pull and does what it's supposed to, generate electricity and do it quietly.
Having said that, if the HF unit was available when I bought the Champ, I would have bought the HF instead. HF makes some very reliable gas motors. - SidecarFlipExplorer III

original engine without a rebuild? - klutchdustExplorer II300 on mine. I use Berryman fuel stabilizer in all my gas engines and run them out of fuel before storing in the barn. The Champion can sit for a year, turn on the fuel and one choke pull and then it starts. Mine is the original champion when they first came out, paid 250 bucks at CSK Auto. This unit has rolled down a hill a few times, I have wheels on it and I lost my balance in the snow. Noisy? you bet, reliable, absolutely. This was my go t genny for my gooseneck trailer, that's gone and the C has onboard Onan.
How someone could run one of those parked next to RV's at a race is beyond me. - MEXICOWANDERERExplorer23,000 hours on my Kubota
- Puddle_PiratesExplorerOn mine, which is 12 years old, I have better than 2000 hours on it. Used it extensively when camping at infield nascar races with the travel trailer. Would run for 60-80 hours during race weekends at MIS and Pocono. Also used for the occasional winter power outages when living in NY.
Used less frequently now, as I have Onan in the toyhauler. Although it ran reliably 60 hours straight two months ago during Hurricane Irma for house power. Hadn’t started it in two years, fired right up and ran without issue.

No wonder you have only 70 hours! I can do that on my Hondas in one week in hot weather.
I have a 4000 watt rattletrap Champion, have about 70 hours on it. Absolutely no reliability complaints, whatsoever. Noise, on the other hand is ear-splitting - ctilsie242Explorer III have a 4000 watt rattletrap Champion, have about 70 hours on it. Absolutely no reliability complaints, whatsoever. Noise, on the other hand is ear-splitting, so when I can, I am going for a 3400 watt dual-fuel inverter model, and relegating the 4000 watt one to emergency duty (as in living in the bed of my pickup.)
