A 50 watt panel might get you 10-12 AH, I'd guess. Better than nothing if you have the room and inclination to tinker with solar. I just put together two 50's with hinges to make a 100 watt kit. The panels are 23x26 and the folded pair is about 4" or so thick in storage. I'm waiting for some Anderson Power Pole connectors to finish the job, so I haven't used it yet. I've played with it in the yard a little, and I hope to get 20-30 AH a day when they are deployed. That's not too far from a day's usage for us, if we don't need to run the furnace.
Eventually I will have panels on the roof. We are not fully committed to keeping our current mini-MH, so I decided to dabble with portable panels for now. I'll post a writeup on them once I get the job finished.
