It is very politically correct, for one thing. I travel with a group who average over $2,000 in solar equipment. They can make coffee without firing up their generator. I use my stovetop. They can't run their Air Conditioner without using their noisy generators. I use a quiet Honda. They spent thousand on solar, I spend a hundred on gasoline. I also have a buddy that keeps his single group 27 topped off with a portable system that didn't cost $100, but he doesn't use much electrical energy. All in what you want/need. Your choice.
