I do a lot of my own repairs but when I cannot fix it I take it to our local RV shop which does a great job and usually has most needed parts in stock. I had an appointment this morning at 8am to repair my hot water heater. They took it in at 8am as promised and had it repaired and ready for me to leave at 10am. Parts ran just over $40 but they have raised their labor rate to $110 per hour so the labor was $220 plus the $19.95 shop supply charge. (Which we all know is a rip)
I guess you get what you pay for. I got good service in a timely manner but this seems a little high. Just wondering what the going shop rate is now.
STOP using "RV" repair shops!!
They are certainly NOT the only place that can work on a MH.
I've said it before. Call Mobile RV Repair. Find a CG near you and ask the CG owner for the phone number of who they use for mobile RV repair. Yo0u do NOT have to be parked in a CG to have them come out to repair your MH. They will come to your house.
They have every part you will need on board, your RV will be fixed on the spot where you are parked, that very day, and repaired correctly for 1/10th of the cost of what an RV shop will charge you.
