LEDs vary.. I have bought some I'll never buy again, Low light output, low life.
I've bought others I recommend and have gone back for more. I have some called ECO-LED that are expensive, roughly 18-19 bucks a pop. You do need to watch the color coding and color temp but the one I put next to a 1141 (I think that is the lamp, one step down from a 1156) seems to be more than a match in the light area and way cooler.
I put one in in place of one of the 10 watt "Landscape" lamps in my puck lights. WAY WAY more light (Well the 1141 is like 19 watts).
They are not cheap however.
