How reliable is the rain sensor on a Fantastic Fan?

Of course, the best solution to the issue is a Maxx-Air vent cover, but I wonder how reliable the rain sensor is on a Fantastic Fan. I'm looking at a couple "B" motorhomes, all of which have low/mi...

We have three, the one in the bedroom has a cover because we like it open even if it is raining. The other two are uncovered and the rain sensors work in a heavy dew. Any rain at all and they close right away.
