The reason for this is - if the water pump should ever fail while on a camping trip - you can still get at the fresh water tank's supply for drinking, cooking, toilet flushing, etc. without having to find and install a new water pump or terminate the camping trip.
That's a good idea! Also, when I get home and dump my fresh water tank or flush it, I can attach a hose and water my plants. Now, it runs down the driveway. Not legal here in Los Angeles anymore. I will have to crawl under the MH and replace my existing plastic fresh water tank drain hose. It's in a bad spot and drains onto the frame. Hope if I get a new MH there is a better system.
