How to fill water without gravity fill?

My current MH has a gravity fill and I have used it many times dry camping to add water from jugs. We are looking at maybe getting a new MH. They all seem to have only screw on pressurized hose fill. One salesman said you can take the winterizing tube and suck it up and somehow turn valves, but he wasn't sure.
I suppose I could take an old water pump that I have and stick one end in a jug and the other using a hose screwed into the pressure fill. Will that give me enough pressure to add water to the tank?
  • The pressure needed is just enough to overcome the spring in the check valve assembly inside hose connection.

So an extra water pump will work, a hand pump will work and if you have 'winterizing' valve you can suck water from bottles/bucket etc. using the on-board pump.

I just wish that regardless of what connections mfg. install that they would STILL have a gravity fill also. Simple straightforward way of putting water in fresh water tank
  • I use a cheap boat bilge pump to pump into my city water fill, also to winterize.
    bumpy
  • I use my winterizing hose to pull from 5 gallon jugs. I have added a pressure tank and 2 GE water filters. While plumbing all of that in I added a ball valve that lets the pressure side dump to the gravity fill hose. I use a spray bottle of bleach to sanitize the hose each time and store it properly.
