How to Open HI-AMP 181090F for Reset

OK, red face time, found the problem, it's called stupidity. With some help, I got a multimeter, checked two thermal breakers --OK, checked the 90 amp buss -- OK. I finally called James Brinkman with Kansas RV, and he was mystified, said maybe something wrong with the battery ground. Turns out while wrestling in the heavy battery, I had inadvertantly shoved one of the two ground wires on the drivers side battery underneath the battery compartment overhang. So once I connected the second ground wire on that battery, all was hunkadory.

Wife says I'm getting too old. Know that, but don't like the available solutions.:o

Amazon will sent one for less. Get the one that manually resets as a replacement.

90 amps is a lot of power. Have you solved the overload issue?
I would not like self reset at this level. OK maybe not at any level.
Far better to find the issue then reset.

Try az I might I can not find the OPs image. And glaring at my CB I guess those slots keep running around behind the cover where I can't seeum.

The industry might have done away with the auto reset models (?). Still light years better than the dice size play toys.

We now return to regular programming...

This Chart says it's auto-reset. Do you know it's tripped? If it's had a little time to cool, and tests open with a meter, then it's just bad.

Look like the plastic push locks for covers, pop up with a knife blade under the edge of the button
But I doubt the plastic removal ones would maintain a waterproof seal
Those are probably rivets

Are those four round head actually screws that can be removed using maybe an allen socket wrench... I almost can see a slot in the center of those round heads in the four corners of blank plate...

???

No button to push because operation is via bi-metallic thermal open and closure. When they go open circuit it's time to say adios. No lever no reset. I have an 80-amp model sitting 4 feet from me. Tempted to put a 5% duty 50 millisesond flashing LED acrpss it to announce open circuit.

RoyB, the bottom image you put up is almost identical to mine, ie no buttons and a cover that shows no obvious way to remove it. It just has 4 brads, not screws on top. I tried inserting my knife in between the top and sides; seems to be a thin rubber gasket there (it's waterproof)--- but I prised until I was afraid it would break off. Afraid to get tougher with it. If I could get in, I suppose there would be a reset lever?

The manual ones I have seen look like this with a LEVER that drops down when tripped. Just simply move the LEVEL back up to reset...
