HUGE Black Friday Solar Sale!!!

I buy all my solar devices from AltE Solar here in Massachusetts. My office is 10 minutes away so I can drive and pick up large panels etc.

They are running a Black Friday 10 percent off sale and a week or so ago they lowered the prices dramatically on their solar panels.

I use a lot of the 140w 12V panels and they used to be $239, now $199 and today 10 percent off bringing them down to $180!

It's here - Our BIGGEST SALE in Company history! For just 6 days, receive 10 percent OFF in-stock products starting now through Cyber Monday, November 28th!

Look for the "10 percent OFF" banner as you shop and use the coupon code CYBERSALE16 when you place your order!

I have no financial connection with AltE. Just passing along a good opportunity....

Solar Panel Efficiency Loss With Age

I guess negligible loss then for all practical purposes, according to that link???

assuming reasonable care, yes, the efficiency loss should be minimal.

And given their age, they are probably larger than an equivalent panel today. Panel efficiency has gone up significantly in the last 5-10 years, so older panels may take up more space.

course used panels may not look new, could have holes in the frames from mounting etc. but IMHO for the right price, could be a very good deal.

Now I will guess that most used panels will be at least 24V panels since more than likely they were used for house or industrial applications. So they would need a MPPT controller. If you already have one, good buy. If it means buying one, it may end up not being that good a deal after factoring in the cost of a MPPT controller vs. a good PWM controller or existing controller.
