Husky Brute 4500 tongue jack on Jayco 32BHDS travel trailer

I bought a Husky Brute 4500 electric tongue jack to install on my Jayco 32BHDS.

The manual crank jack has 7 inches of outer sleeve below the mounting plate and penetrates the bottom plate which is 6 1/2 inches below the top plate. The Husky Brute has only 6 inches of outer sleeve below the mounting plate and this sleeve does not penetrate through the hole in the bottom plate. Only the shaft of the jack penetrates the bottom plate. Could this be a problem?
  • As long as it fits and the jack is rate to carry the tongue weight of the trailer, it shouldn't be a problem....just different designs.
  • I called Husky. Some trailers, like mine, have a 6-3/4" space between the top and bottom plate. For this application, they make an extension ring that has to be installed and they have mailed it to me. The outer sleeve of the tongue jack needs to penetrate the hole of the bottom plate.
