The situation which prompted him to leave it on too long was the fact that once the solenoid failed completely the jacks down light stayed on continuously on that jack- so he disconnected the horn and left it on to see if the jack down light would go out.
And that brings up another question. Why is the jacks down light still on with the fuse blown and the Jack fully up? There are wires to the top of the jack which I assume go to a micro switch. Is it possible that the micro switch has failed?

Turn on the Dash Touch panel. That will indicate WHICH jack down light is on. Go to that jack and disconnect the down sensor at the sensor multiplug. That will turn the light OFF. If this works replace the sensor IF the jack is fully retracted. If NOT, then the wire harness is shorted somewhere between the jack and the control board. Doug
