I did the spring job Saturday and I found a little more efficient process than the washers. I used a small pair of vise-grip tong pliers as a ring an put the hook of the spring in them. Then clamped a regular set of vise-grip pliers on the back of the spring hook to us as a handle. Then stuck a bull pin (a small pry bar would also work) through the opening of the tongs and levered against the bottom of the foot to stretch the spring open guided the hook into the hole with the standard vise-grips. Once I got my method together it only took about 15-20 minutes per jack.
