HWH slide/leveling system.issues with extend/retract.HELP

I have a class A 1998 Thor Residency it has HWH 310 series leveling/extension system.
it has 4 solenoids for the leveling system one for each jack
it has 2 solenoids for slide, retract and extend
all 6 solenoids are the same
here is the issue.....leveling system works perfect
will not extend or retract, pump does run.
if i relieve the pressure on the extend solenoid push switch it will extend.
to retract i close the extend solenoid relieve pressure on the retract solenoid push switch goes in.
today i switched 2 leveling solenoids with the 2 slide solenoids to see if the issue would follow.
leveling works great...slide still works the same.
i also removed the manifold check valve and it looked fine

Im running out of ideas.....
any advice would be greatly appreciated............

  • thanks all, did some electrical TS found a loose wire in control panel....repaired and it starting working
appreciate all the advice..could have sworn i checked that awhile back.
looks like at some point someone else was in there doing work.
think i may replace all the connections to be safe

during testing a few times it did "freeze" up/stop..shoock wires and worked
  • jsore check your room switch. sounds like the solenoid side of the switch isnt working. if you want further info, download a service manual, and then call me. 602-549-3638. i can help. i do work for hwh.
i do not sell parts or solicit service work on this forum.
    thanks, paul maddox
  • 1. You are extremely lucky you do not have leaky solenoids. NEVER swap HWH solenoids without having replacement o rings. They usually leak when removing they get nicked.
    2. You NEVER have to swap solenoids to check for HWH problems. If you manually release them and they operate, then you check to see if you have 12 volt power to them when operating. ODDS are you have a fuse blown for those solenoids. EACH solenoid has its own 10/15 amp ATC fuse. Find the control box for your system and the fuses will be there. Doug
