hydraulic jacks

My next door neighbor bought a 37ft Ford powered Forest River a couple years ago. it's a 2004 3 slides,rear 1/2 bath and a beautiful MH. Last year the jacks stopped working. retract would start up but nothing would go down. did a lot of troubleshooting and narrowed it down to the controller. The system is made by Lippert, enough said??. He talked to them numerous times and all they would do is sell him a complete unit to the tune of around 3grand. They tell him the main controller can't be fixed and they don't sell a replacement. He took rig to an RV repair facility locally and they also got no satisfaction from Lippert. Any ideas?
