Hydro Flame FA-7825 furnace problem,,

Hello, We have a hydro flame FA-7825 furnace with electric ignition. Been have trouble with it. I put a new burner {old one was real rusty}, high limit switch, and fan relay.

It will start just fine when the furnace is cold. It will burn until I assume the high limit shuts the flame down, But as it cools down {fan still running} it will not send power to open the gas valve again. {I have a little light wired on the power wire on the gas valve to see what is happening}

If I shut the furnace off and leave it sit and totally cool off it will start and lite the flame again.

Would I be correct in thinking the igniter board is probably bad? I ordered a new igniter board should have it tomorrow, we are going camping tomorrow afternoon and need to hopefully get it figured out.

Thanks, Tom

  • I was thinking the same thing, adding another outlet. The furnace is in the back under the bed and no easy way to add a outlet up near the front. It already has 3 towards the back of the camper.
  • You are on the right path. My front furnace goes thru the same phases. I have accepted a design flaw, lack of air flow. I believe adding another discharge hose would help, however I don't know where I would run the additional hose to.

  • I put the furnace back in the camper and it works good so far. In the camper with the furnace all closed in it does get up to where the high limit kicks off the burner but after it cools down a bit it turns the flame back on again.

    I cleaned and tightened up some wire connections while I had it out so maybe that was the problem.
  • Hi again,,, I found one of the bigger heating ducts had a big hunk of paper in it blocking a lot of air flow. I have the furnace out at set up in the garage running and it works fine. It won't get hot enough for the high limit to kick out unless I almost block off the hot air coming out of furnace.

    So maybe its just from air flow being restricted in heater ducts?
