My credit cards could care less about solar flares ... what they do care about is "The Postman" making his daily rounds across the U.S. after the Apocalypse, though.
My credit cards all insist upon monthly paper statements being delivered to my mail box by The Postman on his rounds ... I like to be in debt via hard copy ... not via solar-dependent 1's and 0's. You gotta love those points -> so far I've bagged a Husqvarna chain saw and an iPad from em'.
P.S. All you amp-hour-meter fans out there ... remember to calibrate them every so often based on the lifetime capacity depletion curve of your particular batteries. It's the pits to not have as much left as you thought you did when either growing old, and/or drycamping out in the middle of some/no-where. :E
