That might work with the Victron, no idea. Something better work or else you will get to hate the thing IMO.
My Tri does not have the "three things" set at all; I use it as is out of the box.
It seems to be designed for a draw down from full (zero AH) then a complete recharge (pos amps) Once to "full" and draw down starts again, it goes to zero AH. But what if you stop the charge before the batts are full as when doing 50-90s or you are on solar and you don't get to full that day?
I wonder what will happen when your solar gets to Vabs 14.8 and your batts are at 95% SOC and amps are 5 amps but just then a cloud goes by and your amps drop to 0.00001 for a while. Will it reset?
There should be a time factor or "filtering" so it only reacts to a more steady-state value for your "full" settings.
My controller goes to 14.8 and then drops to 14.4 Float well before amps get down. If I set the monitor to think full is 14.8 and 1 amp and it is at 14.8/5amps before dropping to 14.4/5amps then the monitor will never believe the batts are full when amps drop to zip because the voltage is too low.
If I set the monitor to think full is at 14.4, what happens when the controller takes the batts past that to 14.8 and the cloud goes by?
What happens if you are at 14.8 and 5 amps and you turn on a fan and amps drop to 0.0001 or go negative? Your voltage will also drop a little depending on the load, but you could still be above your voltage trigger but below your amps trigger? So it resets the AH count if you leave the fan on long enough?
Bend can correct/explain all that if wrong. Anyway it is all too complicated for me, so it is lucky I can just turn the stupid reset feature off. :) Glad I don't have a no-reset Victron clone. :)
Once Mena buys a Trimetric after he gets going on solar with his Victron, he will be able to compare them for the forum's entertainment. :)
