I only run my generator where the sound is not a problem and anyone within 200 feet of me is too close anyway. If I need to run it full time, I move to a cooler place or a park with hookups.
I'm sure more will be moving in tomorrow. I may have to leave.. we'll see.
I never park within 400' of people running any brand of generator. Thanks for the report but you cannot hear my generator from 400' in any direction. Sixty long paces and the sound is gone. As a surveyor, I know about what 200' looks like and as a contractor, I know what real contractor generators sound like. I also realize it is popular to slam what others own.
Its not a slam on what others own it is a fact that an open frame generator has no place in a campground running all day so kids can charge their phones or play video games, campgrounds should be a relaxing quite place . The fact that someone will spend 60K on a new truck and 60K on a new fifth wheel an show up at the campground and pull out a 5000 watt open frame generator they are so proud of because it was less than a Yamaha or Honda then proceed to ruin the day for everyone around them has always been a problem for me and it has happen more than a few times to us. Yes I do have Hondas 2 2000I's but rely on solar when I can and try to not run the Hondas where they will bother anyone near me.
