MEX, do you actually own this inverter? Does it do well at the high end of the rated power?What is the idle draw? How quiet is the fan? Fan controlled by thermostat?

Wonder what the sine wave looks like.

I loaded a Wagan Elite EL2601 400 watt PSW upto 475 watts for a few minutes yesterday. Unloaded voltage read 111.2vAC, loaded at 475 watts it read 113.1vAC.

I wonder what its sine wave looks like.

I was powering a 20 inch box fan on high, and a Buckethead shop vac through a router speed controller and dialed it upto 10 waiting on the alarm to come on once past 400 watts, It didn't.

Its got a 0.4 amp standby draw which drops to 0.25 in a few seconds.

I have one and it works well for my occasional use. I have loaded it to 1850W with little change in voltage. Fan doesn't run continuously and it has a remote.

I goofed

The link title said PURE sine wave when clicked it says modified.

We have a kind and sharp eyed brother here that inserted the correct link above.

At eight something pounds this does not appear to be a highly freeking-sinkly inverter.

Might fill the bill for modest requirements.

I classify inverters into two categories.

1. Leave on

2. Shut off

This may qualify as the # 2

As inverters go I believe Outback has a better warranty track record.

But for the price this may be a good chew & spit alternative

David .... X2 on your answer to the 800 lb. Gorilla In The Room missing from so many inverter specs .... what is it's idle draw - for those drycampers who want to leave their inverter hooked up and turned on all the time?

(BTW .... I personally won't touch a MSW inverter. There's enough to worry about when drycamping w/o the smell of overheated electronics being one of them.)

I bought a 300W MSW inverter at Canadian Tire for $40 and it satisfies my normal needs (2 TVs and sounds system). When I need more power, I push the loud button.
