An excellent description of the PD's charging profile, as also reported by others. (Lame in Bulk--doesn't do constant amps as rated)
--------------------------------------------------------------
It does put out constant amps !! Hang a 55 amp load on a PD 55, and it will put out 55 amps forever. It is a power supply, designed to put out rated amps when it is called for, and it WILL do it.
A 220 AH battery at 50-60% does not call for 55 constant amps, no matter what you wannabee engineers think. But if you want to modify and force max amps into a battery that it was not designed to accept, get after it, its your batteries, but don't come cryin back here when your batteries are short lived,....as will happen.
As for me, I have a life to live that does not include sleeping w/ my batteries, especially when the PD engineers have it all figured out so I don't have to.
The simple fact remains, the PD converters are the best at their reliability, no water loss, fast charging, and maximum battery life. And over 20 yrs I have proven every one of them. No, I won't scribble a bunch of unreadable homade charts that don't mean a thing. And if you don't want to believe me, read the forum,.. how much does it take anyhow ?
