I think this quote from BFL13 says it all. He has his preference, as do we all. However, he is giving kudos to PD in that if his particular pet was not available, the PD is the best choice out there.
He is also saying, indirectly, that anyone who does not want to fool with the time/effort to set up the individual charging profile, the PD is the best out there.
The only part of his quote that I was not able to do when I re-did mine was to move the converter right next to the batteries. It is still about 12 to 15 feet away, but I did go with fat (4g) wire, and upgraded from a 45 amp to the 55 amp.
