Yes, it was built with the intention of removal. I just don't like buggering up woodwork with screw holes but my biggest concern was the lack of finding any wall "studs". As best as I could feel around for something solid it wasn't going to happen. The front trim panels of the cabinet seemed very strong so that's why I installed those side pieces to transfer the weight to up front. I haven't been down the road yet, but it seems very solid and the wall mount that I purchased is very heavy duty and it locks flat. The floor is pretty solid and when the swivel mount is stowed for travel, almost all of the weight is transferred through the floor.
