Separate post. To help some who have responded IMPORTANT
Reduction of voltage to a DIRECT current motor does NOT raise amperage. It cannot. With higher resistance and lower voltage automatically comes LOWER amperage.
The lower voltage higher amperage phenomenon occurs in alternating current motors.
