Installing an inverter on truck to power compressor

I'm putting airbags on my TV and have decided that instead of getting the on board air option I would instead install an inverter and a stand-alone 2-3 gal air compressor. That would also give me 120...

If you can get an engine driven compressor I think you will be way better off.. The inrush on a compressor is akin to an AC unit, and it could likely take a 3000w inverter to bull it off. Then there is the battery and alternator....
