I got one of these and I dig it with the remote. should the remote blink when not plugged into power?

Yes, the Light on the Remote is nothing more than a volt meter, So long as there is voltage it should either be on or blinking It indicates the voltage on the output terminals. if not plugged in that's battery voltage. however I do not know how to translate the blink rate (On/Slow/Fast) to voltage... I just know that's what it is measuring.
