Installing Inteli-Power 4600

My original inverter is a Magnitek 6300 Q series. Im installing an Inteli-Power 45 watt converter. The wiring colors don't exactly match up, and I'm not going to be installing the new DC board at this time.

Here is a pic of the DC wires out on the original board.

My inteli-power has these wires coming out of the DC side. I believe the green is coming out of the DC side, but it isn't marked. The original converter only has a black and white coming out of the AC side.

Looks to me like the white on the new will connect where the white on the old connects, the black to where the red connects, and the green to where the blue connects. The blue looks to be a ground because it is attached to the board.

Before I powered it up I wanted to check with the experts.

  • I used plastic screen clips to repair mine. Unfortunately, I could not find brown ones, so I painted white ones with brown plastic paint.

  • I broke the little latch that holds the top door shut. Does anyone know what they are called?
  • Got it in. It works. When I started looking at this last year I thought I heard the talk about a jumper wire and I thought I would have to have my own wire to jump to the other circuit. You Don't. Simply cut the wire already in use. I gave up the manual features and I can't tell what phase it is in, but I got it in without having to pay someone $200. Now that I see how it works, I'll probably put the DC circuit board in later this summer.
  • 6300 had two circuits. Red was unfiltered and blue went to the battery for filtered circuits. I believe the red and blue get connected with a modern converter with a single filtered circuit to power all items and charge the battery.

Need to verify where the wires connect. I have not done this conversion.
  • Pulled the Magnatek manual. Looks like the blue is umfiltered converter output, and red is charger output.

I can run a jumper from the black wire in the new converter to where the blue wire attaches. I can run the green wire to the AC side and put it in a ground slot.

  • Ground wires are always green or bare copper.

You can easily find the installation manual for your old unit by searching on-line. That will tell you what the blue wire is for.
