It seems that panel manufacturers don't advertise the number of diodes and how there connected.
For panels with diodes - A diode for every 2 cell rows is a clue: A 4x9 array (common 12V panel) would have 2 diodes while a 6x10 array (common 24V panel) would have 3 diodes. The reason is simple since the junction box area would have the minimum additional wiring for the bypass diodes.
With a actual panel remove the junction box cover and count the diodes (or missing diode locations). - CA_TravelerExplorer III
