I ran mine out through the drain line also. You need to pull the little "plug vent" off of the outside end of the drain line.
Run the power wire out through drain line, cut a little slit (1/2") up from the end of the drain line, slide the wire into the slit. This allows you to reinstall the "plug vent" at the end of the drain line to prevent bugs from crawling up the line.
I don't see how a bug could get up the vent line, especially with the wire inside taking up part of the space, but since you have it, you might as well reinstall it.
