I just adapted a usb powered laptop cooling base. Rewire the 3 5 volt fans that are in parralel in series and reversed the polarity so it blows out along the edge instead of onto the laptop base.
Now I have a 16" wide air stream across the fins. Total cost $4. Wired to the fridge light, 0.2 amps. It a fair bit more airflow than the d cell battery units which I considered and the air flow across the fins are blocked at the bottom by a drip tray so I figured this would spread out across more fins.
Not enough experience to now how much better it works yet, but with the fridge in the slide it needs help badly as it was marginal even in the cool spring trips we did so far.
