- MEXICOWANDERERExplorerScrubber batteries are special purpose. Their ampacity is designed for a scrubber machine and not a golf car. A scrubber under normal conditions draws more amperage for a couple hours work then gets recharged for 14 hours. Golf cars work all day at lower amperage. The scubber will out CCA the Gc but the Gc will out cycle the scrubber. Acid cc to plate sq.in
A scrubber is an expensive and heavy piece of eqvt. These are the fundamental design differences behind the two batteries. - BFL13Explorer IIDon't forget LY's agonies with his "Screwy 31".
I was very happy with the used T-1275s I got five years out of. They were beat up and not considered ok for golf car use anymore but were still useful for somebody (me!) I posted about them back then. - Boon_DockerExplorer IIIThe max you get with a GR31 is 125 amp hr. Those GC12 are 150 amp hr.
As others have said, your best choice is GC2 (6v golf cart batteries). - 2oldmanExplorer II84 pounds. Ouch.
- GdetrailerExplorer IIIYou DO realize it is rated at 150Ahr AND it costs $238???
WHY, WHY, WHY do people insist on these insanely expensive "12V" batteries???
You want the best "bang" for the money, go with the GC2 6V batteries, one pair gives you 210Ah-225Ah (depends on manufacturer brand) for $180
Two pairs of GC2 (2 "banks") gives you 420Ahr-450Ah of $360..
6V GC2s are popular and most commonly used batteries in Golf carts, this popularity makes this battery size much cheaper over all to manufacture, other battery sizes are not as popular and manufacturers know that they will sit around longer so they manufacture smaller quantities which means cost per is much higher.
You simply will not find any other battery size that is more cost effective with this kind of Ahr capacity. - BFL13Explorer IIUsing AH vs RC, but same idea. That 150AH batt (looks like a Trojan ) is less than two 31s at say 100AH each. Two of those 150s would be more than the two 31s
Here is the T-1275. Some Interstate 6s are made by Trojan too, according to an Interstate guy locally. That is the 225AH and the 210AH one, not the 232AH ones.
