Or a standard 30 amp switch is fine. Place it between the existing and the main breaker panel. Go Power has a 30 amp switch that breaks out power for the converter to avoid the charge loop.

Yes you need 4/0 wire to the battery. thank you for your help. ill complete this first before continuing with the solar. will consider dumping the 5k inverter for another model.
