First off, you'll likely find a pair of GC and 1000W is pretty marginal with an inverter. GC voltage drop at that current gets to be to much with only a pair of GC batteries. When I was trying to get 1000W from a PSW inverter, a pair of GC had to be at least 75% SOC during the entire time to avoid going into low voltage shutdown.
4 GC solved the problem, now I can drive a 1000W load down to 50% or lower SOC. (How much lower, don't know haven't tried, but at 50% everything was humming away)
you can either add another pair of GC or hook the inverter up to a pair of 12V batteries, run everything else off the GC. BFL does this and it works well for him. 12V batteries typically have much lower internal resistance, couple with a pair, so each battery only supplies 1/2 the current and it's a winner.
Lastly, personally I don't think your going to be very satisifed anyway. running a microwave for a few minutes, hair dryer for a few minutes works fine. A burner element???? How long do you want to run it before recharging batteries?? 15 minutes?? 30 minutes??? 1 hr??? At 1000W (90A) you'll take a pair of GC batteries down to 50% of capacity in around an hour. Likewise with a pair of 12V .
Use batteries only for the things you can't do with propane or use the handy honda 2000.
