I've got a Xantrex 1000W Pro Series inverter, hardwired into my RV, that stopped inverting after I changed out my coach battery. Was hoping for some input on solutions before I went out and bought a new one.In my efforts to resolve the issue I've; 1) disconnected the power from the RV for over 2 hours and then hooked up the battery, 2) checked the GFI circuit to make sure it was working with shore power and was not tripped, 3)confirmed I'm getting pass through power when hooked up to shore power, 4)checked to be sure the breaker on the inverter was not tripped. The remote panel for the inverter shows it working with 12.6V input but no output.Does anyone have any thoughts for anything else I can check. The inverter came with the coach in 2011 so it's roughly 4 years old.

Does the inverter have a fuse or circuit breaker?

Best WAG is that the transfer switch portion of the inverter is not operating correctly. It is stuck in the "pass through" stage. What I would try is this: With both the AC and DC power disconnected from the inverter (take the wires off the terminals), short across the AC terminals and the same for the DC terminals with a length of wire. That may be enough to disengage the transfer switch relay or any IC controllers.

Checked all other outlets at this point with a plug in night light. No power. Pulled GFI out and it is not getting any input power in inverter mode. Works like it's supposed to with shore power. Any suggestions would be most welcome as I've now gone from thinking I could just replace the inverter to discovering that easy fix ain't the issue.

you have an inverter circuit breaker problem

you have 120v pass thru on shore power,
did you try it with the generator running

but no power to other outlets on inverter, that used to work on inverter
you have something that must be reset or replaced, and it IS in the inverter

How is the RV connected to the inverter? If it is hard wired perhaps a connection is loose?

As Westend suggested I disconnected and shorted across the DC and AC terminals and although it did not appear to have made a difference, it did in the process, reveal a deeper mystery. Appears the inverter is inverting but, is powering only one outlet in the RV. The one my TV/DVD is plugged into in the living area. (Wife was kind enough to point out the standby light was on, on the TV in inverter mode). Checked all other outlets at this point with a plug in night light. No power. Pulled GFI out and it is not getting any input power in inverter mode. Works like it's supposed to with shore power. Started with Xantrex tech support. Ended with them offering to sell me a new converter. When I mentioned I was checking the outlets, I was doing that with an appliance.
So if the shorting across the AC/DC circuits doesn't work, is the consensus I probably just need a new inverter?

Guess I should mention that as I've tried these various things I'm not just going by the panel. I check the outlets in the RV to see if they are powered.

Circuit breaker on the inverter is one of those little push button styles. I’ve tried pushing it in several times but it never feels like it’s tripped. The panel doesn’t give me +- on the V input. Just says 12.6. The control panel allows you to select which input you want to see and using that, it shows 0.00 watts output. It’s not showing any fault codes. When you turn it on with the shore power disconnected it shows the switch to battery power through its indicator lights. I’ll try the deal with shorting across the power connects with the power all disconnected. Any other ideas?
