Is it ok to travel with a full plastic gas can on my bumper?

I would not recommend that, but I've done worse probably with up to 20 gal of diesel albeit for short periods. Probably a better solution would be either on the tongue or even inside the trailer on the floor somewhere like just inside the door and then just set it outside when you stop.
