Personally I would plug into the pedestal because I don't know exactly how the inside of the trailer is wired anyways, and I would fear the circuits inside might not be able to handle the possible current draw.
Yah its a constant 12 amps or so on high but he can select an 8 amp rate as well. That might be another suggestion. Slower charge but really it'll still be charged when he gets up in the morning.
