Issues With A Fridge... Can Anyone Help Me?

HI!

So, I have a 1991 Terry Resort 26B.

I'm having fridge issues... I haven't used it in about 5 years... But started to again.

My Fridge never worked on electric, I never tried to fix it either... But now it won't even work on gas... But I also don't have a battery hooked up, but I do have 120AC hooked up...

It seems the fridge lights but doesn't get cold... The back of it is fairly warm but not hot.

I guess my question is, does it NEED a battery for the fridge to work or do i have a crapped out fridge and need a new one?

Sorry, I have a Dometic S619-007. Does that help?

    YES..see your other post
  • You have 2 threads running 8 mins apart.......both have given you some answers BUT you will get better help if you provide brand/model of fridge
  • You need 12 VDC to operate the circuit board electronics. Whether or not you need a battery depends on your converter. Older converters need a battery to regulate the converter output. Modern converters do not require a battery because the 12 V output is filtered by circuitry in the converter. After you hook up 12 VDC and you find it works on propane but not 120 VAC you might want to check the 120 VAC electrical heater element. I am currently having trouble with one in my old RV.
  • Rwagner43, I only have the 120 VAC plugged in because I currently don't have a battery, So your saying I would need a battery for the fridge to work?

Even Plugged in & On Propane?
  • You need 12 VDC to operate the electronics. As far as I know the 120 VAC is required only to power the electric heater, and is not needed if you are using propane.
