Jumper for Batterys in Series
While helping a friend I noticed this,the jumper between the 2 batteries is much smaller than the ones for neg. and positive .Shouldn't they all be the same? Click For Full-Size Image.

If you are referring to the very small black wire draped across the batteries, then I think hedge has it correct.
The actual series jumper is a red cable able a foot long, and it does appear to be slightly smaller than the red and black primary cables. But it is plenty large enough IMO. Nothing to worry about.
