Jumper for Batterys in Series
While helping a friend I noticed this,the jumper between the 2 batteries is much smaller than the ones for neg. and positive .Shouldn't they all be the same? Click For Full-Size Image.

Without more data, it is hard to say for certain if the gauge is "adequate", but it is very short.
I would also get rid of the wing nuts and use stainless lock wasker and nuts.
